Two ingredients and 30 minutes is all you need to get these Crispy Air Fryer Fried Chicken Thighs on the table. The perfect weeknight meal!
If you are looking for a quick and easy main dish to get on the table fast on busy weeknights, I have got you covered. This Air Fryer Fried Chicken Thighs Recipe requires only TWO ingredients and just 30 minutes.
It doesn’t get much simpler than that! The other fabulous thing is that this recipe is family approved. My kiddos gobbled these up. And I don’t know about you but when my kiddos gobble something up, it makes dinner a whole lot easier!
Like I said, just two! You do need some non-stick spray to spray the bottom of the air fryer rack but other than that it’s just the chicken and the seasoning.
CHICKEN THIGHS: Bone-in, skin on chicken thighs is what you need for this recipe. I prefer chicken thighs because they cook quickly and the skin crisps up perfectly. If you choose to use another cut of chicken, the cooking time will vary. Also, if you don’t want the skin, you can use boneless chicken thighs. Keep in mind that the cooking time will be a lot less because there is no bone.
OLD BAY SEASONING: This seasoning blend is kind of becoming my new favorite seasoning. It is a blend of celery salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes and paprika. You can usually find it in the spice aisle of the grocery store or near the seafood department.
STEP #1: Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or container. Sprinkle with Old Bay Seasoning. Rub the seasoning into the chicken thighs.
STEP #2: Spray air fryer basket with Place chicken thighs in the air fryer skin side down. Air Fry for 12 minutes at 375. Turn and cook an additional 10 – 12 minutes or until a meat thermometer registers 165 degrees and the chicken skin has reached desired crisp. Serve immediately.
DES TIP: Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook the chicken thighs in batches. I have a 4.5 quart air fryer and I needed to cook this in two batches. You can keep the cooked thighs in a warm oven while the other batch cooks.
See how easy that is!! This air fryer fried chicken thigh recipe is a life saver for busy weeknights. To round out the meal I like to serve it with sautéed broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes.
