White Balsamic Vinaigrette

Jump to Recipe

This White Balsamic Vinaigrette is sweet and tangy! Use it to dress your favorite tossed salad, arugula salad or as a marinade for chicken.

I just love making my own dressing. I make my own Caesar dressing, Buttermilk Ranch and Creamy Pesto. Making your own dressing is super easy, usually requires very few ingredients and you can always adjust it to your own tastes.

I was inspired to make this White Balsamic Dressing after enjoying it at a local restaurant. It’s sweet, tangy and light. It has a much lighter flavor than traditional balsamic, making it the perfect vinaigrette for so many different salads.

Let’s talk about what you’ll need to make it:

White Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing Ingredients:

  • WHITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR: White Balsamic Vinegar is lighter in color, and flavor than traditional balsamic vinegar. It’s also thinner and less syrupy.
  • EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL: I love using Extra Virgin Olive Oil whenever I make homemade vinaigrette. It adds a more robust flavor than other olive oils.
  • HONEY: Will add sweetness and cut the acid a bit.
  • GARLIC: Just a small clove will do and it’s important to mince it fine or crush it. That way you won’t have large chunks of raw garlic in the dressing.
  • SALT/PEPPER

Step By Step Photos and Instructions:

Making your own vinaigrette is super easy which is why I tend to make my own rather than buy it. There are only two steps!

STEP #1: Combine vinegar, honey and garlic together in a bowl or measuring cup. Whisk well.

STEP #2: Slowly whisk the olive oil into the other ingredients until it emulsifies. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve.

Storage and Leftovers:

This only makes a little over 1/3 cup of dressing so you may or may not have leftovers. If you have any, store them in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. Olive oil will coagulate in cold temperatures so just allow it to come to room temperature before serving.

If you want to skip the dressing aisle at the grocery store, here are some of my other favorite homemade dressing recipes:

Green Goddess Dressing is full of fresh herbs and is great as a salad dressing or dip for vegetables.

Creamy Feta Dressing is perfect for Greek Salads!

Garlic Vinaigrette is a classic and must make for garlic lovers.
