This Air Fryer Turkey Breast is tender and juicy on the inside with a crispy browned skin. Once you try it, you’ll never cook turkey breast another way!
When it comes to turkey, we usually only eat it once a year: Thanksgiving. I mean, it’s a lot to cook a whole turkey and to be honest, my family isn’t a huge fan.
Strike that, I should say weren’t huge fans. Because after they tried this turkey they wondered why I didn’t make it more often! That’s right, this turned my family who was pretty “meh” on turkey into turkey lovers.
Whether you’re having a small gathering for Thanksgiving this year and don’t want to make a whole turkey, or are just not a fan of dark turkey you have got to try this Air Fryer Turkey Breast Recipe. It’s tender, it’s juicy and oh my gosh, just LOOK at that crispy turkey skin!
TURKEY BREAST: I used a 5 pound bone in turkey breast. And that was about the max that my (5.5 qt) air fryer could take.
BUTTER: This is what is going to help give the turkey skin that golden brown color.
SAGE/THYME/ROSEMARY: Dried is perfectly fine to use in this recipe. It’s what I used because I always have them on hand.
DES’ TIP: Remember, if you use fresh herbs, the rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon fresh herbs = 1 teaspoon dried.
SALT AND PEPPER
Ok guys, you will be amazed at just house easy Air Fryer Turkey Breast is.
STEP #1: Pat the turkey breast dry. This also helps the skin crisp. No need to rinse it!
STEP #2: Combine melted butter, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt and pepper together in a bowl. Whisk until mixed well.
STEP #3: Brush the melted butter mixture all over the turkey breast.
STEP #4: Cook turkey breast at 360 degrees in air fryer (on the AIR FRY) setting. Turn and cook for another 20 minutes. Check temperature. Turkey is cooked through when it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. You may need to cook an additional 10 – 15 minutes. Just turn it once more if you have to.
STEP #5: Allow turkey to rest 15 minutes before slicing. Slice and serve.
DES’ TIP: Anytime that you cook meat, whether it’s turkey, steak or chicken, allowing it to rest is an important step. Don’t skip it. It allows all of the juice to redistribute giving you a juicier piece of meat.
You totally can. I didn’t when I made this recipe because the turkey breast that I bought was already brined. If you are looking for a brine for turkey breast try the brine I use for my Brined Fried Chicken. It’ll make enough to brine a 5 pound turkey breast.
DES’ TIP: If you do brine the turkey breast, you will need to rinse it or you run the risk of it being too salty.
