Brace yourselves, friends–Football season is coming. After the first preseason game last week, we are pretty much in football mode here in our house. Which means in addition to the jerseys, the sunday night games and the cheering for our hawks, comes my favorite part: football food. Last year I made these BBQ Pulled Pork Tailgate Fries and I thought that this year I should try a different version. Something with bacon. Something like these Cheddar Bacon Ranch Tailgate Fries.
Before I get to these fries, let me tell you about the day I had. I keep trying to think of something to write for this post but I keep hitting a brick wall. I keep hitting it because we had one heck of a morning yesterday. It started out as any normal sunny day. I decided to take the boys to the park. Preston in his wagon and Kellan on his bike.
We are playing at the park, I am sitting in one of those spinning chairs playing peekaboo with Preston and what happens? It spins and Preston walks right into it resulting in a bloody nose and lip.
Awesome.
We decide to head home after that to get Preston cleaned up and feeling better when what happens? Oh he falls out of the wagon and lands face first on the ground.
Double awesome.
Then as I am carrying Preston in one arm, pulling the wagon with the other and watching Kellan on his bike, we enter a crosswalk. We were in the right away but for some reason, a woman turning left who was stopped when we entered the crosswalk, started going and TURNED RIGHT INTO US.
It all happened so fast. I saw Kellan hit the ground and thankfully, get up and run to the sidewalk. My heart was pounding and I was shaking as I ran to him making sure he was ok. Thankfully, he didn’t have a scratch on him.
It was the scariest moment of my life. So as I sit here, trying to figure out a way to tell you about these Cheddar Bacon Ranch Tailgate Fries, I can’t find words. I’m just snuggling my babies tonight.
