When I was contacted a couple weeks back to see if I wanted to develop a recipe for a holiday dip to pair with Kettle Brand Chips, I was all over it. I am a huge huge fan of Kettle Brand Chips. I have been for years. I always have a bag or two in my pantry. They are perfect for snacking and great for parties. And dipped in this Creamy Pumpkin Sage dip, they are sure to be a hit this holiday season.
One of the reasons that I like to cook so much besides the fact that I just like to cook, is that I like to know what is in my food. Take chips and dip for instance. Chips and dip are always my go to snack. And, like pretty much everything I eat, I like to make sure the ingredients are real and wholesome. With Kettle Brand Chips I know that is exactly what I am getting. When I read the ingredient list I understand everything on there. There are no artificial flavors or MSG. And they use non-GMO ingredients. In fact, I just found out they are the first potato chip to be verified by the Non-GMO Project. Pretty nifty huh? I think so.
Among these reasons for picking Kettle Brand Chips, I also love Kettle Brand Chips because there are so many different flavors, 33 to be exact. Among my favorites are the Krinkle Cut Salt & Pepper, Jalapeno, Spicy Thai, Krinkle Cut Cheddar & Sour Cream and of course New York Cheddar. They are also offering a few different flavors to celebrate their 30th birthday. I tried the Jalapeno Jack and hope it stays around. It is delicious! Next I want to try the Red Chili which apparently blends the flavor of Sriracha with cayenne pepper. Sounds spicy and you know me and my spicy food.
For this recipe, I decided that I wanted to try to pair a dip with my favorite Krinkle Cut Cheddar & Sour Cream, New York Cheddar, Krinkle Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper and Sea Salt chips. After consulting the Flavor Bible, yet again, I discovered that everyone’s favorite holiday ingredient, Pumpkin, pairs well with cream, sage and cheese. Thus, I decided to make a creamy Pumpkin Sage Dip. It’s creamy, earthy, pairs well with my favorite flavors of Kettle Brand Chips and would make an excellent addition to your upcoming Holiday parties. Trust me. I put it out for some friends to try while I was recipe testing and they could not stop going back for more.
