Crockpot Grape Jelly Meatballs are the ultimate party appetizer. They are crazy easy to make and only require 3 ingredients!
Whether you are planning your next game day celebration, holiday party or backyard potluck, you’ve got to include these Crockpot Grape Jelly Meatballs. They are a party food classic! And for good reason: they are incredibly easy to make, loved by adults and kiddos alike and can be made ahead so you can enjoy yourself during the party.
Basically these are a win all around!
As I said before, only 3!
FROZEN MEATBALLS: While there are various flavors of frozen meatballs, for this recipe I prefer to use meatballs that are basic. Homestyle works the best. Make sure that they are fully cooked meatballs.
GRAPE JELLY: Any grape jelly will do! I used Welch’s
CHILI SAUCE: Think of it as a kicked up version of ketchup. It has a little bit of heat but not much. My eldest son, who thinks pepper is too spicy sometimes, ate these meatballs with no issue!
These are super easy to make! Which is one of the reasons that they are perfect for party planners. You can make them in the slow cooker and then leave them in there while you prepare everything else. I also keep mine in the slow cooker during the party so they stay warm. Is it just me or do people always gravitate towards the slow cooker to see what goodies are in side?
This recipe is really as easy as combining everything together in the slow cooker and turning it on. If you like, you can whisk together the chili sauce and grape jelly first to make it easier to coat the meatballs before they start cooking, but it is not necessary.
You can cook these meatballs on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours. I like to stir every so often the last hour or so to make sure that the meatballs are really coated in the sauce. If you’d like the sauce to thicken up a bit, take the lid off and let simmer for an additional 20 -30 minutes.
As I mentioned, these Crockpot Grape Jelly Meatballs are perfect for parties, but I actually serve them to my family as a dinner every once in a while too. With a salad and creamy homemade mashed potatoes, they are a weeknight dinner winner.
