Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves minced fine
  • 1 tablespoon parlsey chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons chives chopped
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon stoneground mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

  • Place softened butter and all ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Mix until the mixture is well combined.
  • Form compound butter into a log. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Even if you want the butter to be soft and spreadable, the chilling time is still important. This allows all of the flavors to meld so don't skip this step. You may need to allow it to soften a bit on the counter so that it slices well.
