Dark Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cookies

Chewy, chocolaty cookies get a twist and sweet tartness from dried cherries.

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup lightly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together butter, dark sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Beat in vanilla.
  • In another bowl mix together flour, baking soda and kosher salt.
  • With mixer (or beaters) running, gradually add in flour mixture. Mix until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips and dried cherries.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of cookie dough 3 inches apart on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven 10 - 13 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
  • Transfer cookies to a cooling rack.
  • Serve cookies hot or cold.
