5mint leaves
3lime wedges
1/2ouncesimple syrup
ice
1 1/2ounceswhite rum
club soda
Instructions
Place mint leaves and 2 lime wedges in the bottom of a glass. Gently muddle with a muddler or the back of a spoon.
Add in another lime wedge and simple syrup. Gently muddle again to release the lime juice.
Add in ice cubes to almost fill up the glass. Pour rum over the ice.
Top with a splash of club soda and stir. Serve with lime wedge and mint leaf as a garnish.
Notes
You don't want to pulverize the mint or it will start to take on a bitter taste. Gently muddling it is perfect. You can make your own simple syrup by combining 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until sugar dissolves and then cool.
